Audit Inquiries

Workers’ Compensation audits are conducted within 90 days following the expiration of a policy term. Your insured will either be contacted by an auditor or will be sent a mail audit form from the AIC office directly. Failure to comply with an audit request will result in an estimated audit being processed.

The Company understands that premium audits are vitally important. These audits determine the final premium for an insurance policy. The data collected during an audit is remitted to rating organizations, such as NCCI and independent bureaus. This data is then utilized to develop experience modifiers and loss costs.

These audits take estimated payroll and convert the policy premiums so they are based on actual payrolls. Audits are required by Workers’ Compensation law. As such, remittance of requested documentation should be submitted timely. The insured will be contacted by an auditor or will be sent a mail audit form from the AIC office directly. Failure to comply with an audit request will result in an estimated audit being processed which could detrimentally affect your experience modifier.
